Where to Sleep — camping and accommodation

Numerous accommodation options are available to guests

We are once again offering bedrooms inside the House itself. For a list of rooms and to book please sign up on our mailing list or refer to previous emails from us. You get proximity to all the activities of The Summer House and the knowledge that you're supporting other guests to attend by helping subsidise the event. One wheelchair-accessible room & bathroom will be set aside for a guest or guests with those needs. Most, but not all, other rooms are up stairs. If you have accessibility questions please contact us as we have a separate stock of rooms for those with mobility difficulties.

Sleep in a splendid 5m canvas bell tent from Blue Bell Tents, with bedding for 2, 3 or 4 people plus carpeting, light, mirror and padlock, pitched ready for your arrival. Tents are yours any time from your arrival on Thursday night until you leave first thing on Monday morning. These traditional canvas bell tents are waterproof, warm in cold weather and cool in hot weather — unlike many of today's cheap plastic tents. Guests who glamp get access to a tent with phone charging station and — at specific, limited times, assuming the power is working — a hairdryer (in addition to toilets and showers that are shared with all guests).

Airstream and Caravan

We have up to three trailers / campervans available, all sleeping four people and with shower / kitchen facilities. One is a modern 22ft Airstream trailer; another is a 1950s vintage Airstream; and the third is a 1980s caravan.

Self-camping is free — pitch your own tent in the grounds of the house (we encourage you to decorate your camp!)

We provide toilets, hot showers and running water from a tap at no extra charge.

Campers with accessibility or mobility needs can arrange to camp at the end of the site nearest the House, or in particular cases by arrangement, in other locations around the grounds. Check our accessibility page contact us with any queries.

Usually, by booking a live-in vehicle pass, guests may bring their own campervan / caravan / live-in vehicle. As of April 2017, all campervan / live-in vehicle places are sold out, due to the limited hard standing at the venue and our need to keep space clear for emergency vehicles. You may of course bring a live-in vehicle and park it in the regular car park but we cannot permit you to take up more space (eg with awnings) than you would otherwise take by parking your vehicle. Please note that we cannot provide hookup for water or electricity.

Local hotel / B&B

We would prefer for you to stay at the House throughout the whole weekend, though if that is simply not your style, we have details of some local B&Bs. Please contact us for details.

We do not publish the address of The Summer House to anyone other than ticketholders, who receive the details in their confirmation email. Upon confirmation of your ticket, if you wish to get the name of the local town so you can do your own search for local accommodation, please contact us requesting it.

If you are sleeping outside The Summer House: Please note that the gates to The Summer House will not  be open continuously. In a bid to keep the event secure and private we are only opening the gates to ticket-holding guests during daylight hours..
