NINA POWELL: SOMATIC SEX EDUCATOR AND COACH
I am passionate about health and wellbeing. I am a Certified Sexological Bodyworker and teach through body experiences designed to nurture, deepen or awaken the sensual self. This is a body based, or somatic, approach to sexuality that assists individuals, couples and groups to deepen their experience of embodiment. As a Sexological Bodyworker I am a trained sexologist. My work includes pelvic release bodywork, scar tissue remediation, coaching in breath, movement, communication, massage, body awareness, masturbation coaching and accessing of erotic trance states. Somatic education nurtures and awakens the sensual and sexual self. You learn to become aware of your body's wants, needs and desires and how to communicate this.
If you desire exploration of your erotic self, want to cultivate sexual confidence, learn new erotic skills, or learn about your arousal anatomy so you can experience more pleasure then Sexological Bodywork can support you in all these areas. The techniques are also powerful for addressing all kinds of sexual challenges, including loss or lack of sexual desire, not being able to orgasm readily, lack of sensation, pain during intercourse, postpartum scar tissue, sexual trauma or sexual abuse and any other sexual challenges.
I am doing this work because I believe:
- Allowing ourselves pleasure is core to us being able to love and accept others.
- Our sexual energy is a powerful life force. It makes us radiant, vibrant and alive.
- Our sexuality is not a luxury. It is an essential part of our being. To fully embrace all of our us we need to include our sexuality. It drives our passion in life, our creativity, connects us to ourselves and to others around us.
NB: As with tickets, there are no refunds, exchanges or transfers on sessions (though you may arrange an amended time direct with Nina). She will be offering sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Click here to book.
Pelvic Release Massage for awareness and sensation
This massage focuses on a "mapping" of the vulva. After some gentle external touch, and only if the person receiving wants this in the moment, the Sexological Bodyworker begins pressing and holding points inside the vagina. The goal is not erotic stimulation, but rather to have bodyworker and student work in partnership, sensing and feeling what is there. The intent is not to get through all the points, but to notice what happens at each and every point. It is possible to spend an entire session on one point. This massage can be done many times and yield new sensations, information, and emotional and physical release in every session. This massage brings awareness and sensation to the vagina and releases both physical and emotional holding.
Anal Mapping for awareness and tension release
The base of our spine is one of the foundations of our physical being. Many people hold habitual tension in this region. Once relaxation begins, feelings of shame sometimes surface, and can be released. Increased ease in the anal area is often reflected in tranquility throughout the body. The massage focus on a "mapping" of the anal area and can have both external and internal components, used together or separately as appropriate, and only when welcomed by the recipient's body. The goal is not erotic stimulation, but rather for bodyworker and receiver to work together to sense and feel what is there. Areas of tension can be held and released. Massage in this part of your body brings often brings about deep relaxation and a sense of calm in the whole body.

Scar Tissue Remediation
Sexological bodyworkers address scars created by surgery, childbirth and trauma. We observe the scar and feel for its depth, shape, texture and extent. We evaluate the elasticity, distensibility and sensitivity of the scar and surrounding tissues. We then apply castor oil and special strokes that encourage the scar tissue to release and realign. We work in partnership with our clients, helping them to go into a state of deep internal awareness. They feel into the scar, and allow it to speak to them. The scar's "holding" is typically both physical and emotional, and often an emotional and physical release will be felt simultaneously.
We can use breath to awaken the body and regulate autonomic nervous system responses. Breath is like an erotic pump and is a powerful tool for playing with sexual energy in your body.
Orgasmic Meditation for awakening of the genitals
You may have heard of Nicola Daedone as she has been spreading the word of this genital mediation around the globe through her TED talk and workshops. I am trained to offer this mindfulness massage. It is a genital touch meditation which brings awareness and awakens sensation in the genitals. It is good for couples to learn and practice regularly. The person giving the massage brings their loving attention to the vulva, using a single stroke, repeated over and over. There is nothing for the receiver to do except to be aware.
